The Cry of the Heart  †

Healing and Miracles 3

In October of 2001 I was at work, when I noticed something unusual with my vision.  All of a sudden, things got really blurry, and it was hard for me to see the fine detail of the work that I was doing.  I thought that it was just something on my contact lenses, and decided that I would have to do a special cleaning when I got home.

When I did get home, and took out my contacts, the spot that was in the middle of my vision was still there.  It was not something on my contacts, it was something wrong with my eyes.  I thought that if I got some sleep, it would be better in the morning.  But when I got up in the morning, the spot was still there, and it was bigger.  The people at work really encouraged me to go in to see a doctor, and a couple of days later, I called the opthamologist and went in to his office.

He said that if I had come in earlier, they might have been able to do something, but that I had a retinal occlusion.  This was the equivalent to a stroke on the retina of my eye.  For some reason, one of the blood vessels had become blocked, and where there was no blood flow, I could not see.  After seeing a number of doctors, the consensus was that there was nothing that they could do about this.  One specialist told me very bluntly, "What is dead is dead."  They did give me some blood pressure medicine and told me to take aspirin, to try to prevent a further stroke.

I found it very hard to function in my normal life.  When I looked at someone, half of their face was gone, and as I was working with microscopic materials at work, it made it extremely difficult to perform my job functions.  On top of all that, the blood pressure meds that I was given were making me dizzy, and I could hardly stay awake.  I was believing that God would do a miracle.

I had gone up for prayer and received prayer several times, but no change in my eye.  Then, after several months, I went into church, and our Pastor was teaching on healing.  I was reminded of several things that God had told me to do in the past, that I was not doing.  God quickened those things in my heart, I asked God to forgive me for these things, and when they had a call for people to go forward for healing, I went up.  The anointing was very strong in church that evening.

I got home that night, and started to do a couple of things that needed to be done, and going through some mail.  All of the sudden, I noticed that I could see the fine print on the paper that I was reading.  I didn't need the special magnifying reading glasses or anything!  When I got up in the morning, I could still see that spot in my vision, but I could see right through it!

I went into the GP a little while later, to get a return to work slip, and told him about the change, and how I can see now.  He just looked at me and said, "Well then...  You have had a miracle."

The doctors at work wanted me to go back to the eye specialist, the one that said that my eye was dead, and that there was nothing that they could do about it.  When I saw him, I told him, "My eye is getting better now."  He looked in my eye, and didn't want to admit that it was a miracle like the other doctor, but he did admit, "It looks like it is getting filled in by some unknown source."  The source was maybe unknown to him, but not to me!  Praise the Lord for healing!
