Testimony - Shreveport, Louisiana
July 13-16, 2000
A team of 18 people from Living Word Christian Center in Mpls., MN went to Shreveport, Louisiana in support of the Rodney Howard-Browne's evangelistic crusade. 1,036 people received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. One woman was healed from arthritis after prayer. People from all over the world were saved. One family even came from the Marshal Islands, moved to Shreveport, met some of our people, and got saved. The following is an account of three of the testimonies from the trip.
Testimony #1
We drove into Shreveport from Dallas, Texas on Thursday. We stopped at a Shoney's Restaurant for dinner. One of our pastors prayed with our waitress (Lakesha) to receive the Lord. We all were led to give her a really big tip that night, and we knew that she was really blessed. We returned the next day for our evening meal, and to our surprise, the manager of the restaurant told us that he had seen such a change in Lakesha after she had prayed with us, that he wanted all of the staff to come back to our tables and pray with us. The waitresses were sent back one by one to receive the Lord, and Pastor Kent prayed with them all. On our last night in Shreveport, Lakesha received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. She also told us that the money that we had given her was really needed, because she had two kids and no food in the house. God was showing Himself to be her Savior, Baptizer, and Provider... and she will never be the same again.
Testimony #2
We were witnessing in the Wal-Mart parking lot, and it was almost time for us to return to the hotel. Pastor Nick (our evangelism Pastor) noticed a dog in the back of a pick up parked near by. The temperature was about 104F, and it was apparent that the dog was very uncomfortable. Pastor Nick told one of our team members, Ratko Karleusa, to go and give that dog some water. He got an old Wendy's cup out of the back seat and poured some water into it. Ratko got out and gave the water to the dog. The dog's owner was sitting in the truck, and he was so blessed by this act of kindness, that he got saved. He thanked Ratko over and over for coming all the way from Minnesota to talk to him and pray with him. This is a picture of the dog, David (the man in the pick up), and Ratko is on the right.

Testimony #3
Pastor Nick and Ratko thought that they had made a wrong turn back to the Hotel one afternoon, when they saw a wedding party. The bride, all dressed in white was coming out of a hotel. Pastor Nick told Ratko to go and pray with her, and she did pray with him. Then the groom came out, and Ratko went to pray with him. He hesitated a minute, and wanted his bride to pray with him. Ratko told him that she had already prayed, so then the groom received the Lord too. Then the maid of honor came out, and she got saved. What they had thought was a wrong turn, was a divine opportunity. What a way to start out a marriage!
Donations
Would you like to participate in sending people out on the missions field? If you would like to give financially, and be a blessing to thousands of people, I would like to give you the opportunity to help. I believe that when we give, it is given back to us, and God multiplies it so that it is more than we can contain.
