Our Words

Our words are like little seeds, and they produce after their own kind.  If we speak words of life and health and healing, we will produce a crop of the same in our life.  Many times, when I have been at work (and I'm sure you have experienced the same thing) someone will look at me and ask, "Are you feeling OK?  You don't look very good."  Then, after that seed is planted in your heart, you start to think, maybe I don't feel too well.  Do I have a fever?  Maybe I am sick.  Maybe I should go home and lie down for a while.  I wasn't really sick.  But that thought got into my head, and soon I was experiencing symptoms that made me feel very ill.

The words that we speak every day are very powerful.  It was with a word that this universe was created, and that word was so powerful, that the universe is still in the process of continually expanding and coming into being.  We are created in the image of God, and we have the power to change our universe and our circumstances by the words that we speak.  If we speak words of life, and faith then even the most impossible situation can and will change.  If we speak words of doubt and fear, our circumstances reflect that, as well.  When we put the Word of God in our mouth, and speak out God's Word, then we are aligning ourselves for victory.  God's Word never fails, and when our thoughts and His thoughts become the same, we are in agreement with God Almighty, and when we speak His word in faith, things change.  There is nothing too hard for God.  He is still the Savior, the Healer, the Deliverer, our Provider, and our Protector.

Scriptures:

• James 3:2-6
  For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body.
  
  Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
  
  Behold also the ships, which though [they be] so great, and [are] driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.  Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
  
  And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.   Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.
