The Tidal Wave
I was attending a series of meetings about Prayer at our church. During this session, our Pastor's wife was teaching about how to pray for our country, and afterwards we were to just start praying. When we started to pray, I closed my eyes, and saw the most amazing thing. It was just as real as if I were looking at it in real life. I could see a map of the continental United States. I didn't see Alaska, or Hawaii, but it was clearly for the States. Then, as quickly as I saw that, I was in another place. I was down on the ground, and looking across the land. This land was dry and hard and parched by the sun. There was no water there. But I could see something coming at me from far away. Across the horizon, I could see it, and as it got closer, I could see that it was an enormous tidal wave. But really there were two waves, in the one. They were both part of the same thing, but there were two waves.
The first wave came out of the bottom of that huge body of water, and came as a gentle sweep and rush of water that went out over the land, and softened the land. It got into all the cracks and crevices, and cleaned out things that had been trapped in there for years. It was not a wave of great power, or a wave to destroy, but rather one of preparation for what was to come. Because the second wave was coming, right after the first, and in it was great power, and healing, and miracles, and the Glory of God.
That was the end of this "vision" I suppose that you could call it. I didn't tell anyone about this vision, partly because of fear of what they would say. Who wants to tell people, "I've started to see things." They will look at you rather kindly, and nod knowingly, and hope that you get some help. So I kept this to myself for about a year, and just thought about it, and tried to assimilate it in my own mind. When I get something like this, it is not in a language like English, it is in pictures, and sometimes you need to think about these things in order to translate it back into English.
About a month after I saw the vision, I was watching a preacher by the name of Kenneth Copeland on television. It was a clip of something that happened in one of his "Believer's Conventions," and Kenneth Copeland had a prophecy about a Tidal Wave that he could see coming. I looked at the TV screen in amazement. That was what I saw, too! He saw different details, but it was the same wave!
The second time that I saw it was when I started going back into a prayer group that I belonged to. The leader started praying, and as she was praying, I saw the same thing, except this time, we were in the water that goes before, and the tidal wave was right before my face. It was almost like you could reach out and touch it. This time, I did tell my prayer leader, and started to share it with other people.
After this, I have seen this same wave coming many times, and each time I saw a different attribute of the wave. I will try to list some of these things here.
- This wave will be a true "act of God". God is blamed for many things that are associated with destruction, but this wave is His wave, and will be a wave of His Glory that will cover this whole earth.
- No one will be able to control this wave, or contain it. That's why it needs to be a tidal wave. In a regular flood, you can build a retaining wall or put up sand bags to protect your stuff, but you can't do that with a tidal wave. It is going to go where it wants to go, and if you try to build a wall to stop it or contain it, that wall will come down. Or it will go right over your wall.
- A tidal wave is always preceded by an event, such as and earthquake.
- Positioning. I was always seeing this wave as if I was down on the ground, looking up, and that is a fearful sight. I kept thinking, how can I or anyone else survive in this wave. It is a wave of such power, it will just blow me away.
I remembered a time when I had gone to the ocean with my two sisters, and they were jumping into the waves, and they told me to just jump in! I was afraid, and when I jumped in, the wave caught me, knocked me off of my feet, and almost sucked me out into the ocean. So how was I going to jump into a tidal wave? It was so big...
But God showed me a really wonderful thing. We need to change our position. The Bible says that we are seated with Him in heavenly places. We are not down on the ground, looking up. We are up on top, and we are going to ride on that wave. The perspective from up there is completely different. Anyone want to go surfing?
