"O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, [and] not comforted, behold,
I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations
with sapphires.
And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles,
and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
And all thy children [shall be] taught of the LORD; and great [shall
be] the peace of thy children.
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from
oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall
not come near thee.
Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever
shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire,
and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created
the waster to destroy.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue
[that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This
[is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness
[is] of me, saith the LORD."
Isaiah 54:11-17

This section of Scripture is one of the ones that God has used with
me over and over and over again. It is a familiar passage, and I
am sure that you have heard of many times. But faith comes by hearing,
and hearing and hearing... the Word of God.
Have any of us gone through incredible trials? Abuse? Rejection? Do we feel like we are under attack either physically or spiritually? I think that all of us qualify. Many of you know that I have gone
through some things in this life, and one thing that God showed me
concerning oppression was in these verses. "You shall be far from
even the thought of oppression, for you SHALL NOT FEAR." (AMP) Fear
is the opposite of faith. If you are filled with fear about something
(or everything) then the anointing of God will not flow.
Fear is believing more in what the devil can do to you than what God can do for you.
And if you are experiencing a great deal of oppression,
there is generally a spirit of fear that is tormenting you.
And how do you deal with a spirit of fear? With the Word of God. The Word of God says "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but
of power and of love and of a sound mind." Find the scripture that
pertains to your situation and confess the Word of God over it, and
remind the devil of what the Word says.
I am going to give you a short synopsis of something that happened
with my grandson, Michael 8 years ago, when he was abducted by a
woman in Arizona.
When your grandson is abducted, your heart is gripped with fear. I was frozen by fear, until someone (one of the pastor's wives at
our church) prayed for me, and then God led me to this very passage,
as well as a whole lot of other ones. And that was what I stood
on until Michael was returned to us.
Then, I prayed, and reminded God of what he said in the Word of God. I also reminded the devil that the Word of God says that "great
is the peace of my children," and if we never would see Michael again,
I would have no peace, and my children would have no peace, so THIS
WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! I prayed that scripture until I felt
a release from God, and that release was such a certainty and an
assurance down in my spirit that it was done and it was taken care
of, that I started telling people that when they questioned me about
it. I found out later that the very time that I got that assurance
in my heart, my grandson was released and given back to the police.
Do we go through things in this life? Some people have the mistaken
opinion that after you get saved, everything is wonderful, and you
shouldn't have any more troubles. The Word says "many are the afflictions
of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them ALL." But when we go through things, God goes through it with us, and saves
us, and we can stand on the Word which says "no weapon formed against
me shall prosper."
